This course provides instruction and direction as to what new supervisors need and are required to know regarding internal and external rules and regulations, as established by the company as well as relevant state and federal laws that supervisors must comply with.

This course will also teach staff how to avoid costly and lengthy litigation by use of the mediation process.

This course will train individual managers, supervisors, or employees on how to be skilled mediators capable of resolving in-house conflicts. This course meets all of the requirements for the State of California. Participants will be given a certificate at the end of the course to demonstrate they have achieved the basic mediation skills set forth by the California Dispute Resolution Practice Act of 1986.

This course is the same as the 25-hour course with the exception that participants will receive an additional 7 hours of instruction on workplace disputes and EEO complaints, including sexual harassment. This course exceeds the requirements of the State of California and is highly recommended for in-house mediators. Participants will be given a certificate at the end of the course to demonstrate they have achieved the basic mediation skills set forth by the California Dispute Resolution Practice Act of 1986.

Win-Win Negotiations

This workshop focuses on turning a win-lose negotiation into win-win results. Win-win does not mean 'splitting the baby in half.' Win-win does mean obtaining the best advantage for your company without destroying the other party. Negotiations are not an 'all or nothing' proposition. This workshop will teach you how to get people with 'strong positions' to 'buy-in' to alternatives, getting to the 'yes' position.

This workshop will focus on what to look for as telltale signs of potential violence and how to defuse the situation rather than escalate the problem. This workshop incorporates active listening, effective communication skills, as well as prevention techniques to help eliminate or minimize the risk of lawsuits. This workshop is designed to teach Human Resource professionals how to conduct neutral fact-findings so that they are timely, thorough and meet legal requirements. This workshop will be interactive and hands-on. Participants will learn how to interview in a non-threatening manner, the art of asking questions and how to deal with sensitive issues. This workshop explores how to turn conflict into an opportunity to build business. Step negotiations, conciliation, mediation and arbitration are examples of effective ADR processes. This workshop effectively demonstrates how ADR can save time, money and relationships for companies.
